Title
June 23, 1936- Letter from Robert Schaap to J.A. Coulter
Description
Schaap, who has recently started a business on the island of Java in Indonesia, references artifacts that he sent to Coulter via Mr. Thomas, who works in Honolulu and offered to mail them to Coulter. Schaap also says that Dr. van der Hoop of a local museum in Java is interested in exchanging artifacts with Coulter, but a special governor's permit will be required to ship artifacts from the island. Schaap also tells Coulter that a "polished ceremonial axe in beautifully grained agate" has been promised to him. Schaap tells Coulter that he hopes to send him artifacts in 3-4 weeks.
